Gujarat: Gujarat is second in the country in the case of Coronavirus. So far, there have been 7,797 cases of the corona. 472 people have lost their lives. Ahmedabad is the most affected in the state. So far 5,540 corona cases have been reported in this city. Also, 363 people have died. In such a situation, the government has tightened in lockdown. In Ahmedabad, vegetable and grocery shops have also been closed till May 15. Officials said 334 Corona Super Spreaders have been found in the city.
What are super-spreaders?
Super spreaders are the infected people who are most likely to spread the disease. Such people can infect a lot of people. Super spreaders are mostly people who come in contact with many people every day. Such as vegetable sellers, grocery or milkmen, petrol pump attendants, and sweepers. Many times such people do not even know that they are infected.
To find out how the coronavirus happened to the super spreader, it is also crooked. Such cases have been reported from many states of the country. Most super spreaders do not even show signs of illness.
14 thousand super spreaders can be in Ahmedabad
An official told news agency PTI that there could be around 14,000 super-spreaders in Ahmedabad. There is a lot of danger due to this. Therefore, all will be screened in the next three days. The screening will also be done in the rural areas and slums of Ahmedabad. The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation started work on April 20 against potential super spreaders. Under this, 3817 samples have been taken so far. Out of these, 334 people have been found positive.
A shopkeeper was found Corona positive in Vizalpur area of the city. After this, all the people who came to the shop in the last 15 days have been asked to stay at home in quarantine. Similarly on the outskirts of the city there is a town named Dholka. A person selling watermelon here turned out to be Corona positive. He has also been identified as a super spreader.
District Development Officer Arun Mahesh Babu said that about 96 people had come in contact with it. Most of them are family members, fellow shopkeepers, and regular customers. All these have been quarantined. Of these, 12 people have been found corona positive.
Investigation of 2000 suspected super spreaders by 13 May
Additional Chief Secretary Rajiv has been given the responsibility of supervision, monitoring, and coordination related to Corona in Ahmedabad. He told that in the last two days, about 2000 suspected super spreaders have been screened. All these will be examined by May 13.
Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation has taken several steps due to the ever-increasing cases of Corona. These include the medical screening of shop owners and staff. They can go to the screening center of their ward. From here, health screening cards will be available according to their results.
